Roche supports Resource Area for Teachers, an organization that provides recycled materials to teachers and nonprofit organizations to enhance education for children in the local community. RAFT picks up and prepares materials donated by local businesses such as computers, science glassware, floppy disks, binders and other materials and recycles them for use by teachers.
Roche also provides funding for RAFT Workshop Programs that focus on teacher enrichment in science. In addition, Roche holds a yearly "Back-to-School" drive to provide disadvantaged children with new school supplies through RAFT. In 2000, employees donated more than 14 barrels loaded with items such as new pencils, pens, paper and notebooks. |
