RECENT APPOINTMENT AT ROCHE PALO ALTO
Ian Massey Named Senior Vice President and Head of Neurobiology Business Unit
Palo Alto, Calif., March 14, 2000 -- The Roche Pharmaceuticals Research & Development operations in Palo Alto announced the following appointments:
Ian Massey, D.Phil., has been named senior vice president and head of the Roche Bioscience Neurobiology Business Unit, succeeding Roger Whiting who left the company. Massey reports to James Woody M.D., Ph.D., president, Roche Bioscience. Massey was previously vice president for Preclinical R&D at Roche Bioscience. The Neurobiology Diseases Unit is focused on research for new medicines to treat genitourinary and central nervous system disorders.
Roche Bioscience is focused on the discovery and early clinical development of innovative new medicines to treat diseases including arthritis, asthma and other respiratory diseases; anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric diseases; genitourinary diseases and osteoporosis.
